Goalkeeping great joins Muller with new deal as Flick’s Bayern vision takes shape

Manuel Neuer’s new contract at Bayern Munich means another club great will be on hand to try and shape the Hansi Flick era.

Former Germany assistant Flick took on his full-time post as head coach at the start of April, after impressing as an interim replacement for Niko Kovac.

The club then moved quickly to secure Thomas Muller until 2023, with the versatile forward enjoying a resurgent campaign at the Allianz Arena – contributing six goals and 16 assists in 26 Bundesliga games.

Despite playing down suggestions his own new deal was imminent following last weekend’s 2-0 win at Union Berlin, Neuer has now joined Muller in committing until the end of 2022-23.

The 34-year-old appears ready to face a potential battle for his first-team place, with Alexander Nubel poised to make the same move from Schalke that he made almost a decade ago, although an 11th clean sheet of

How 49ers’ Trent Williams found great shape during year away from game

Most 49ers fans surely have stumbled upon Trent Williams’ viral workout videos. You know the clips, where the team’s new left tackle squats 585 pounds and then cruises over hurdles and atop boxes like a rabbit with springs in his shoes.

Check them out below if you haven’t. If scrolling down isn’t in your immediate future, trust the fact they show an unreal combination of power and agility for someone so big.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound seven-time Pro Bowler is an athletic outlier, but genetics alone didn’t push the bending barbell up four times with ease. Getting in this type of shape took tons of hard work during a period where he had plenty of time to relax and didn’t take it.

James Cooper is a private personal trainer to star athletes. He detailed how the 31-year-old Williams got into the best shape of his life and wants to reward the

Losing motivation for home workouts? This PT has a great hack

Losing motivation for home workouts? This PT has a great hack

During the coronavirus pandemic, which has seen gyms and fitness studios close to help slow the spread of the virus, many have taken to at-home workouts. Although there’s a whole range of great classes and exercise regimes available online, many are finding it tough to stay motivated (and not slack off during a session…). Luckily, Elliott Upton, a personal trainer at Ultimate Performance, has a genius and practical solution.

It’s all about setting yourself SMART goals, meaning goals that are:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Achievable
  • Relevant
  • Time-bound

“For example, it could be that you want to be able to do five push-ups (specific) after 6 weeks of training (measurable, achievable, time-bound),” says Elliott, who is also Head of LiveUP Online Coaching. Often people set goals in the run-up to an event, such as before a wedding or a holiday, to make them ‘relevant’, but during the current

Netflix’s The Midnight Gospel—the latest from Adventure Time mastermind Pendleton Ward and comedian and podcaster extraordinaire Duncan Trussell—is not an animated show that’s easily explained.

Over the course of eight euphorically insane episodes, this rollicking odyssey tells the story of Clancy, a pink-skinned young man in a hallucinatory alternate dimension known as “The Chromatic Ribbon” who uses a Universe Simulator to visit dying worlds, where he engages in virtual conversations that he then broadcasts throughout the cosmos via his popular “spacecast.” It’s a psychedelic romp through far-out worlds and farther-out discussions about health, happiness, grief, mortality, drugs and other heady topics, the catch being that these chats have been taken from Trussell’s real-world podcast, and given outrageous new fictional contexts.

It’s as weirdly original as it is profound—and unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Asked how he describes the series, Ward has a typically hilarious summation. “I’ve

Jovic sure of having a great career at Real Madrid - Custic

Jovic sure of having a great career at Real Madrid

Luka Jovic only wants to triumph at Real Madrid and hear the Santiago Bernabeu chant his name, according to personal trainer Bojan Custic amid doubts over the forward’s future.

Jovic has struggled to live up to the hype since his reported €70 million (£61m/$76m move from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 27 goals in 2018-19.

The 22-year-old Serbia international has only managed two goals in 24 appearances for Madrid, while he has been linked to Borussia Dortmund as a possible makeweight in a deal to bring Erling Haaland to the Spanish capital.

Jovic – who has been criticised for breaching self-isolation procedures in Serbia amid the coronavirus pandemic – has also emerged as a reported transfer target for Premier League outfit Arsenal.

But Custic told Diario AS: “He has told me that he only wants to triumph at Real Madrid, have a great career and for the Bernabeu

As of April 1, there are more than 179,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. Nowhere has been hit harder than New York City where there are more than 76,000 confirmed cases and 1,550 people have died. As many had feared, the city failed to “flatten the curve” and medical need has exceeded what the health system can provide.

In an effort to free up critical beds and resources, all elective surgeries have been canceled. Health officials are even urging people symptomatic for COVID-19 but less vulnerable – those who are generally healthy and under 60 years of age – to stay home and away from emergency rooms for fear of infecting others or taking up much-needed
