‘You’re Going To Feel At Home’

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Edge Fitness Clubs reopened its Naperville location June 26 and wants members to know they’re “going to feel at home,” The Edge Fitness Clubs National Director of Group Exercise, Jenn Kuehn, told Patch. The fitness club will operate at 50 percent capacity to start and has implemented stringent cleaning procedures to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

Kuehn told Patch “We build facilities that are set to encourage social distancing.” She added that safety measures and cleaning procedures are in place to create “a safe and fun environment for our members.”

The following safety measures are in place at The Edge Fitness Clubs Naperville location:

  • Cleaning staff onsite 24 hours

  • Increased sanitation stations

  • Touchless entry for members

  • New HVAC filters

  • Every other cardio machine in use

  • Weekly electrostatic cleaning of entire facility

  • Staff members wearing masks

  • Staff members’ temperatures taken before coming to work

  • Signage to direct foot traffic

Kuehn added that fitness classes are back in session with limited attendance. Many fitness classes are also available online.

Kuehn told Patch she has seen an increase in members and new members since many of The Edge Fitness Clubs reopened throughout the U.S. Kuehn said, “The club is a family; it’s a community.” She added, “People miss that social connection.”
